Long story short...can someone run a Carfax on my car?

Couple things. First, I drooled on an RS for a bit. GM said that he obviously wouldn’t let it out the door for anything less than MSRP. I’m amazed he would entertain a flat value on it, to be honest.

I want those wheels.

Second, I went through a warranty claim process for the paint issue on my front fender. Dealer I went to said it shouldn’t happen and opened the process but because I reported it just outside the 3 year mark, Ford denied it. Expected, but sucks. In the process, however, the lady reviewing my vehicle pointed out some potential indicators of my car having been touched up before I took delivery. When I went to get an oil change this past weekend, I inquired about it but the guy was useless. Besides the fact that I wanted the 40k mile service package and they only did an oil change and rotation he said that their records likely wouldn’t show anything because the body shop is a different system but he could still check. I get back and ask, he doesn’t show me anything but said I could check Carfax. If anyone has a Carfax account, I’ll post my VIN.

Side note: tech relayed that my front tires showed a significant amount of wear when compared to the rear. I just laughed and said, “well, yeah.”

someone told me this recently and I was pleasantly surprised with the results. Act like you’re selling your car on ebay. Enter the vin and what not. It will pull an autocheck history which you can then check out.. Of course don’t actually leave the car up for sale.

looks good, got a few recalls you’ll want to keep an eye on though. If you are concerned about previous paint repair have a qualified pro look at it.

Recall #16C13 BODY CONTROL MODULE REPROGRAMMING

Manufacturer Safety recall issued

NHTSA #Pending

Status: Remedy Not Yet Available

Manufacturer Safety recall issued

Recall #16S30 DOOR LATCH REPLACEMENT

Status: Remedy Not Yet Available

Thanks.

They wouldn’t address the recalls because parts yada yada. Hell, the guy initially wasn’t even aware of the recalls when I brought them up. I’m not going back cuz I moved out of my home town anyways but this last trip just wore me out due to incompetence.

I had to switch Ford dealers due to the incompetence of the service department and I’m a vendor there and know the manager pretty well. In this case he hires lousy advisers that know nothing so I’d always go directly to him. Because of that, he’s overly busy and gets nothing done. I think it’s a strange sense of job security to him, but I can’t imagine being a regular customer dealing with that shit. I’ve told the sales managers I’m using another dealer and they weren’t surprised...I’d tell the owner as well but I’m more concerned with keeping the business and am not going to make waves.

Ford recalls these last few years seem to have real issues getting parts.

I had some good service and even buying experience originally but the past year has been exactly what you described. Another dealer nearer where I am now had a great front desk advisor who helped me and called during the warranty claim attempt so I’ll gladly go back there.
